How do you determine what are feminists?

A few days ago I was talking with my friend and in some point of our conversation she said that: "It is so great that you are a femist. Actually, I really envy you for that. I really hope that I could be a femist, too. But I like men just too much!!". I felt annoyed, why? Answer is, just because me and her determine different way what feminist means. To her it means woman who just hates all men and hopes that them just vanish away. Yes, it is little bit narrow way to think (well, this is my opinion). Maybe that is why her comment made me feel offended. Does she think that I am so narrow minded? Oh no, does she really see me that way? Well, I do not think that man hater is same as feminist.

To me feminists are women who take actions for equality between genders. They are political activists commonly campaign for women's human right to bodily integrity and autonomy on matters such as reproductive rights, including the right to abort, access to contraception and quality parental care; for protection from domestic violence; against sexual harassment, street harassment, and rape; for workplace rights, including maternity leave and equal pay; and against other forms of discrimination. Does it sound like men haters? In my opinion no not at all.

Maybe our opinions are different, because our life experiences are also different. And that revise our view of life. How do you determine what are feminists?
